Founded by Rachael in 2008, Afrocenchix is a Black-owned hair care business that exists to put your health first in haircare and places sustainability and ethics and its core.
With this vision in mind, Afrocenchix blends safe, effective, vegan ingredients with expertise to make hair care as simple as possible. All raw materials for each product are ethically sourced and use organic, fair trade Shea butter from a cooperative in Ghana. The packaging is also 100% recyclable to support the business’ commitment to sustainability. Running this multi-award winning business in line with these principles helps Afrocenchix deliver top quality, safe, effective products that work for your hair without harming the planet.
In 2010, Afrocenchix won an award for ‘Ethical and Sustainable Business Innovation’ from the University of Birmingham. Then in 2015, won the Bright Ideas Award from UCL, which helped the business expand in new directions.
Afrocenchix is now based in London and is available in Whole Foods, Super Drug and some of the best independent health stores and shall continue developing expertly researched safe, ethical and effective products. The business is also proud to have sold into 54 countries across the world.
