HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
To celebrate International Women's Day, and this year's theme of #BreakTheBias, we are putting the spotlight on all the wonderful women around the world who bring TINA to the stage.
From backstage crew and front of house team, to hair, makeup and marketing, they all play an invaluable role in the success of our production.
And of course, let's not forget our fantastic creative team: Writer Katori Hall, Director Phyllida Lloyd, Producer Tali Pelman and last but not least, our inspiration, Tina Turner.

HOW DID TINA TURNER INSPIRE YOU?
We spoke to Irene Myrtle Forrester, who plays Gran Georgeanna (GG) in the London production, about the impact Tina and her female role models had on her growing up.
IRENE MYRTLE FORRESTER
“Born in the late 60’s, I grew up with the music of Tina, gospel and soul. I also sang in church. I consider playing the role of Tina’s grandma GG a great privilege. Tina’s energy, love of life and sheer determination at achieving her dreams, at a time when women didn’t have such opportunities.
Tina Turner, my mother, the strong women in my family, church and mentors in my life have been a powerful influence. They have inspired, advised, empowered, taught and protected me. I now do this for the women I encounter.”
